Resumo

Este estudio explora puntos de inflexión en las trayectorias de un grupo de médicos/as que se encontraban en tres etapas de la vida y del ejercicio profesional. Se utiliza una metodología reflexiva y flexible. Los puntos de inflexión son acontecimientos bisagra que reconfiguran biografías con cualidades variadas. Desde una perspectiva del curso de la vida, el objetivo es identificar y describir las situaciones originadas en la formación y práctica de la medicina que se convierten en puntos de inflexión modificando aspectos de la persona y de la vida como médico/a. Con un diseño cualitativo basado en el enfoque biográfico, se trabajó con historias de vida combinando de un modo flexible estrategias y herramientas para el registro de la información y análisis de los datos. Se entrevistaron 24 médicos/as que se encontraban en tres etapas: adultos jóvenes que se iniciaban, adultos medios consolidados y adultos maduros cercanos al retiro. La recolección de datos se estructuró a partir de dos entrevistas, orientadas a la reconstrucción biográfica de experiencias significativas en la formación universitaria, la residencia y la práctica profesional. El análisis temático integró el Análisis Fenomenológico Interpretativo (IPA), la utilización del ATLAS.ti, NotebookLM con IA y de investigadores expertos. Los hallazgos evidencian cualidades fenomenológicas de los puntos de inflexión y se propone una tipología clasificándolos en genuinos, falsos e ignorados. La dimensión reflexiva del trabajo radica en explicitar un modelo metodológico de análisis de historias de vida flexible y la reflexividad constante de los investigadores para asegurar transparencia y transferibilidad de los resultados. Se concluye que la formación y el ejercicio de la medicina son fuente, de momentos significativos para los médicos/as entrevistados los que pueden ser promovidos desde las instituciones educativas. El mecanismo por el cual un evento se convierte en punto de inflexión es un aspecto para seguir estudiando.
