ANÁLISIS CUALITATIVO DEL OCIO Y TIEMPO LIBRE CONSUMIDO POR ESTUDIANTES UNIVERSITARIOS, DESDE UNA PERSPECTIVA DE GÉNERO

Resumen
Es fundamental analizar las preferencias del ocio de la población universitaria para delimitar su bienestar, preferencias y necesidades, lo que permite diseñar estrategias efectivas de apoyo y promoción de la salud mental. y física, así como de enriquecimiento personal y académico. Averiguar si las diferencias por género influyen en las experiencias de ocio en los estudiantes de la Universidad de Salamanca. Se empleó un muestreo no probabilístico por conveniencia para seleccionar 487 estudiantes de la Universidad de Salamanca quienes respondieron voluntariamente a un cuestionario semiestructurado distribuido en línea a través del campus virtual. Se utilizó una metodología cualitativa, específicamente el método fenomenológico, para explorar las experiencias de ocio de hombres y mujeres, con el análisis de contenido posterior para identificar patrones emergentes en función del género. Este estudio revela que tanto hombres como mujeres consideran el ocio como una forma de desconectar del estrés diario y romper la rutina, destacando su aspecto social y la importancia atribuida a la salud mental, especialmente por parte de los hombres. Las principales razones para renunciar al ocio son la falta de tiempo y la carga académica, aunque las mujeres también consideran las emociones asociadas a la actividad. Este estudio pone de manifiesto que existen diferentes preferencias y perspectivas en el ocio en función del género, en la relación entre la salud mental y física derivada del ocio y en los motivos a la hora de no realizar actividades de ocio. Pero también se han encontrado puntos en común, como el gusto por la práctica deportiva y la consideración de la componente social que se asocia al ocio y tiempo libre.
