RELACIÓN ESCUELA-FAMILIA: ANÁLISIS CUALITATIVO MEDIANTE GRUPOS DE DISCUSIÓN

Resumo
Introducción. La participación familiar en la escuela es un factor para la calidad educativa que es necesario fortalecer. El tipo de relación que se establece entre el centro escolar y las familias moldea las actitudes docentes y sus prácticas educativas, influyendo en su salud emocional y en su desarrollo profesional, pudiendo llegar a ser una causa del estrés docente. El objetivo ha sido acceder a los sentimientos y percepciones del profesorado de Educación Infantil y Primaria respecto a la relación centro escolar-familia a través de tres grupos de discusión en los que participaron 16 docentes de ambas etapas. Metodología. Se realizó un análisis de contenido con el programa Atlas-ti 7.5.10. a través del cual emergieron dos subdimensiones, una referida a “Sentimientos y percepciones positivas” (3 categorías) y otra a “Sentimientos y percepciones negativas” (2 categorías). Análisis empírico. Los resultados manifiestan más beneficios que perjuicios respecto a su relación con las familias, percibiendo en ellas valoraciones positivas de su labor profesional e identificándolas como aliadas educativas. Sin embargo, los sentimientos docentes se encuentran divididos entre los positivos (agradecimiento, motivación…) y los negativos (inseguridad, frustración…). Reflexión metodológica. Los grupos de discusión, en un clima de confianza, facilitaron la emergencia de los significados asociados a la relación con las familias en la cultura docente. Los posibles sesgos fueron mitigados mediante la formación reflexiva del moderador. Consideraciones finales. Se concluye que el profesorado se inclina hacia una cultura escolar profesionalista, tendiendo a concebir la participación de forma tradicional, jerarquizada y unidireccional. Es necesario transitar hacia una cultura escolar democrática en la que la participación familiar redunde en beneficios para la comunidad escolar.
