Qualitative research and project management: Technologies to improve processes and results

Abstract
Abstract. Qualitative research has increasingly occupied of importance in the human and social sciences. This advancement has also been driven by technologies as tools to meet many research challenges. One of these challenges relates to project management, from its design, development and results. This paper addresses the cross-cutting issue: What is the emphasis or awareness of researchers and students on determinants facts of research project management? The participants of this qualitative study were questioned in the context of several workshops in Brazil and Portugal on IARS ® research management software (www.ia-rs.com). The results point out that of the four dimensions analyzed, the "structural organization of the project" was the most mentioned and the "internal coherence and systemic vision" was the least remembered and commented. Some reflections are made on the implications of these results in qualitative research.
