MEANINGS IN THE EXPERIENCE OF YOUNG WOMEN WITH CRF ON DIALYSIS: FRENCH DISCOURSE ANALYSIS

Abstract
Illness experiences can be significant, especially Chronic Renal Failure (CRF) in specific groups such as young women, and can generate concerns, ruptures and the need for adaptation. Little is known about how young women (YW) feel, live and express their experiences with CKF. To identify the impacts of CKF and dialysis on the lives of YW; to identify the discursive formations mobilized in their discourse; and to analyze the meanings and feelings attributed to the treatment. Exploratory, qualitative study, based on the Sensitive Creative Method, with the dynamics "Lifeline" and "Body Knowledge”, in a dialysis service of a public hospital in the Brazilian Amazon. Fifteen YWs between 21 and 40 years of age participated. The data were analyzed by French Discourse Analysis, with the theoretical contribution of Paulo Freire and Callista Roy's Nursing Theory. Discursive elements such as metaphors, silencing, paraphrases, polysemy, polyphony and ethos revealed the dialectic of a daily life impacted by CKD. The impacts of CKD go beyond adherence to diet, therapy and medications, encompassing the desire to get pregnant, transplant, raise and educate children, entrepreneurship and issues of identity and gender.: YW's life is managed by the demands of therapy, with CKD and dialysis influencing their vital processes, distinct from those of other groups. Dialogical therapeutic plans can facilitate yw's experience with dialysis.
