Scope

New Trends in Qualitative Research (NTQR) is an international, open-access scientific journal dedicated to critical reflection, development, and innovation in qualitative research methodologies. The journal's mission is to promote scientific rigour, methodological creativity, and epistemological debate in the process of designing, producing, analysing, and interpreting qualitative data in all areas of knowledge.

NTQR publishes methodological articles and empirical studies with substantive methodological reflection, provided that the article's central contribution focuses on the understanding, evaluation, improvement, or transformation of qualitative research practices. Empirical studies are only considered when they generate clear, critical and transferable methodological learning, not limited to the presentation of substantive results.

The editorial focus of NTQR includes, among others:

  1. Epistemological foundations and paradigms of qualitative research;
  2. Research design and methodological strategies;
  3. Techniques for collecting and producing qualitative data;
  4. Techniques for analysis, interpretation, and validation;
  5. Reflexivity, ethics and methodological rigour;
  6. Methodological innovation, including the use of technologies, software and artificial intelligence;
  7. Critical evaluation, comparison and development of methods and approaches.

NTQR asserts itself as an international space for methodological dialogue aimed at researchers, teachers, and students interested in theoretical advancement and practical qualification in qualitative research.

NTQR has no print edition. All volumes are available online and can be accessed on the homepage: https://publi.ludomedia.org
